The following mathematic benchmarks guide our mathematics program

Number sense, Computation and Operations

A. Number sense

1. Count forward to 20 Backward from 10

2. Count the number of objects in a set and identify the quantity

3. Add and subtract objects from a group

4. Understand and demonstrate more or less quantities

B. Patterns, functions and algebra

1. Identify an object that does not belong in a set

2. Create a pattern

3. Match like objects

4. Identify shapes such as circle, square, triangle and rectangle

5. Sort and classify objects by one or more attributes

6. Place objects in an order

7. understand concepts of big and little, small and large

C. Spatial sense

1. Locate and decribe placement of objects with terms such as on, inside

outside, above, below, over, under, beside, between, in front of, behind,

next to, top, bottom

D. Measurement

1. Identify the seven days in one week

2. Identify time concepts of morning and night, yesterday, today, and

tomorrow
